Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” is back with the new sequel? Rooney Mara believes that the chances for a sequel is actually low, even though she is really interested to play the role of Lisbeth Salander in another film.

In an interview with CINEMA BLEND, Rooney Mara revealed that she is very much interested to act in another Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” film again. However, the actress admitted that she had to suppress her expectations that a sequel would be done.

There had been rumors claiming the making of sequel combining the second and third books of Stieg Larsson’s novels Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.” However, the “Pan” actress said that she had never heard any rumors like that. She also added that she does not know anything about the future of the film. She further added that she loves to play the role of Lisbeth Salander once again, if a sequel happens.

According to Wikipedia entry, the 2011 Swedish-American mystery thriller film “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is actually based on Stieg Larsson’s novel of the same name. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara play the main roles in the film. The film is about journalist Mikael Blomkvist’s (Craig) investigation of the mystery happened to a wealthy family’s woman who was missing 40 years back. Blomkvist makes the investigation with the help of computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Mara). The other starring of the film were Christopher Plummer, Steven Berkoff, Goran Visnjic, Joely Richardson, Robin Wright, Yorick van Wageningen, Geraldine James, Stellan Skarsgard, Donald Sumpter, and Ulf Friberg. David Fincher was the director of the film adaptation, and Steven Zaillian was the screenplay writer. Scott Rudin, Soren Staermose, Ole Sondberg, and Cean Chaffin were the producers of the film.

“Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” received generally favorable reviews, after its release in December 2011, reported Variety. However, the film’s “$232.6 million return from a $90 million budget” might be the primary reason that the film’s sequel is not taking a forward step. Moreover, there is no official confirmation for the sequel.
