Meanwhile, Auggie Matthews (August Maturo) decided to get married to Ava Morganstern (Ava Kolker). Read on to learn more about this episode.

At the beginning of the episode, Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) thought that he could escape the worries of a father whose daughter was already eligible to go out on a first date. When he remembered that his daughter, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) was of that age and tried to shut Lucas Friar (Peyton Meyer) out of the classroom, and begged Riley to not grow up. However, Riley, much to the amusement of her best friend, Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter), told her father that she would decide who she would go out with on her first date.

In the hallway, the girls talked about how boys had it easy, and the boys talked about how the girls had it easy. Lucas then told Farkle Minkus (Corey Fogelmanis) that he could solve his “Riley or Maya” dilemma by asking one of them out on a date. However, Maya, who decided to start things going because if not, nothing would happen, shocked Riley by asking Lucas out on a date. Later, Topanga Matthews (Danielle Fishel) realized that Maya had “lit the fire.” Maya later on admitted to Riley that she had done it to push Lucas towards her, as Lucas would never go out with her.

Lucas then tried to ask for Corey’s permission, who refused to give it. At that moment, Topanga got annoyed that, Auggie Matthews (August Maturo) decided to get married to Ava Morganstern (Ava Kolker). Later, Corey became witness to their “wedding.”

Joshua Matthews (Uriah Shelton) then entered and informed them that he would be staying in New York for the summer program, much to the delight of Maya who had a crush on him, but he told her that he was too old for her. Corey then agreed to Riley going out with Lucas with the condition that Maya and Farkle would go on a double date with them.

Afterwards, Maya became heartbroken after she and Riley saw Joshua trying to impress his female campus tour guide.

The next day, Riley, Topanga and Farkle were surprised that Maya actually dressed up for their double date.

Inside the train, Lucas and Riley sat beside each other. However, they then noticed that Joshua looked broken-hearted as his campus tour guide rejected him as she was “too old” for him. Farkle then allowed Maya to go and comfort him. Lucas allowed Riley to comfort Maya after Joshua got off the train. Maya, then, in gratitude to Riley sacrificing her date to comfort her, pushed her towards Lucas, just like the day that they met on the train, and Riley gave him a peck on the lips. Farkle then tried to kiss Maya, but she stopped him with her hand, which he kissed.

Later that night, Cory and Topanga, and Maya and Riley realized that things were changing for them. They discovered that they weren’t worried at all as they had each other.
