On Saturday, September 19th, 27-year-old “Girls” star Allison Williams married her longtime boyfriend Ricky Van Veen. The 34-year-old groom is the CEO of Notional and co-founder of CollegeHumor. The newly wedded couple met through mutual friends. They dated for over three years and got engaged in February 2014.
According to a report by People, the star-studded private wedding ceremony took place at Brush Creek Ranch which is located in Saratoga, Wyoming. Among the 200 guests who attended the ranch wedding were Williams’ “Girls” co-stars Jemima Kirke, Lena Dunham, and Zosia Mamet. Barry Diller, Bruce Springsteen, Diane Von Furstenberg, John Meyer, Katy Perry, Mindy Kaling, and Seth Meyers were also among the guests who attended the event. A source said that former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams walked his daughter down the aisle and Tom Hanks officiated the wedding.
Williams posted a beautiful picture of her and her husband on Instagram on Sunday, September 20.
Williams wore a stunning handmade Oscar de la Renta couture gown on her special day. According to US Weekly, the gown was “strapless with a beaded overlay that runs all the way down the length of her arms.”
Van Veen proposed to Williams in February of this year, but they postponed their wedding plans when the latter’s father got suspended for his false statements about his coverage of the Iraq invasion in 2003. Brian Williams is set to start as MSNBC’s breaking news anchor on September 22. He will be the one to cover Pope Francis’ visit to the United States.
It will be recalled that in March, Allison Williams said in an interview with Seth Meyers that she was very excited to marry her longtime boyfriend Ricky Van Veen.
