Glee Finale Recap: Flashbacks and Fast Forwards

Glee” Season 6 Finale “2009; Dreams Come True” aired on Friday, Mar. 20, 2015, at 9:00 p.m. on FOX. The episode kicks off with flashbacks on the lives of the main Glee Club members before they joined the group. Read on to find out.

Kurt Hummel was facing the worst time of his life as a freshman student. He even attempted to kill himself. Thankfully, his father and Emma Pillsbury made an intervention. How did Ms. Pillsbury know about it? She saw Kurt reading suicide pamphlets at school. Mr. Hummel convinced Kurt to join a school organization to distract himself. Rachel Berry introduced him to Glee Club. Although they became rivals for quite some time, Kurt was still thankful to join the club.

It was a different case with Mercedes Jones. After Rachel discouraged her, Mercedes pursued to join the club. Then more kids went for the auditions, including Artie Abrams and Tina Cohen-Chang who had no choice for the sake of completing a dare. Their challenge was to throw their lunch at Kurt and Rachel.

With the internal competition brewing between Rachel and Mercedes, the club’s first weeks were very challenging. Mercedes was pretty disappointed that Will Schuester chose Rachel to be the first lead singer. What she did not know was Will actually felt sorry for her chosen girl because a lot of people at school hate her.

Being the coach of Glee Club, Will also had his tough moments with his personal life. He was happily married with his high school sweetheart and bestfriends with Sue Sylvester. His friendship with Sue changed because of envy. Sue only wanted the spotlight to be on her cheerleading team.

There is always a rainbow after the storm. Everybody cannot forget Finn Hudson. At first, the club had its doubts on his talents and camaraderie, but he proved them wrong with his sweet personality.

Now, the scene shifts to the present. New Directions wins the Nationals! Because of their victory, McKinley is changed into the William McKinley School for the Performing Arts. Will is designated to be the new principal. He appoints Sam Evans to be Glee Club’s new coach.

Before leaving for her career, Mercedes says goodbye to her friends and promises to always remember them. She will surely get busy on her tour with the ultimate diva, Beyonce.

Aside from Mercedes, Sue also sings a goodbye song to Will. Then she tells Kurt about her great respect for him. Fast forward into the future, she runs for the presidential elections.

What about the star? Rachel becomes successful in New York, hand in hand with her husband, Jessie. She is also the surrogate for the baby of Blaine Anderson and Kurt, who got married in their return to New York. Kurt and Blaine also act as a married couple on the theater musicale of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe?”

There is another couple from Glee Club. Arties and Tina are together again, as well as Mercedes and Sam.

The success of Rachel does not end with her marriage and stable career. She finally wins her Tony award. Then to celebrate the show’s farewell, the cast sings a song. Sue introduces each of the New Directions’ members and the show’s cast from episode one. Everyone starts to sing their rendition of “I Lived” by One Republic.
