It will be a sad day for Gleeks on Friday, Mar. 20, 2015. “Glee” finally hits its finale, not just for Season 6 but for the rest of the show. The upcoming 12th episode will surely be a kaleidoscope of nostalgia. Read on to know what is going to happen.
The star since episode one, Lea Michele (Rachel Berry), is going to have an unforgettable and emotional final performance. Rachel has grown into a mature and beautiful character from being a weak and childish one who was easily bullied (remember the countless drinks splashed on her face?). So prepare yourself with a few tissues in hand for a walk down memory lane! According to Us Weekly, her final song is entitled “This Time,” written by Michele’s co-star, Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson).
An excerpt from the song goes, “This time no one is going to say goodbye / I keep you in this heart of mine / This time I know it’s never over.”
Criss joined the show from the second season in 2010, and the experience became an inspiration for him to write a song for Michele. Us Weekly wrote that Criss penned the song on the show’s PaleyFest Q&A at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in March 13. Criss confided that even if his song would not be performed on “Glee,” he still considered it as “a cool exercise” and his personal “love note to the entire experience.” He explained that his song was dedicated to Rachel going to the next chapter of her life as a strong individual. Michele singing it is considered by Criss as “one of the most special moments” of his career.
Michele also shared her sentiments about the song. She explained to Us Weekly that it was her final recording and described “This Time” as the perfect song for starring on “Glee.” She said that Criss gave her “the greatest gift” that made her fall to her knees and cry. She even called her mother to come and fetch her. She stated that Criss wrote everything she wanted to say to her co-stars and fans.
What else is expected? Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) passed away July 13, 2013, which made his co-stars, his girlfriend Michele and the Gleeks devastated. Michele’s song for him entitled “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele was a trending topic after the show’s tribute episode for Monteith. Surely, he will be remembered once again in the finale.
“Glee” premiered on FOX in 2009 and successfully reached the sixth season. It became a smash hit since day one.
