“Godzilla vs. Kong” is set to hit the big screen in 2020. It was recently confirmed that the movie will be taken up in a reboot and is planned to make a grand on screen appearance with the infamous monsters. Legendary and Warner Bros announced the reinvention of monsters, as both the companies will work together for the blockbuster creation. Both the character, Godzilla and King Kong have an immense potential to be converted into a franchise together in one space. The Legendary CEO, Thoman Tull and Warner Bros CEO, Kevin Tsujihara made the announcement and combined the epic monsters in a trilogy. The initial part will be out in 2017 titled as “Kong: Skull Island,” the second part “Godzilla 2” is said to come out by 2018 and the great grand battle “Godzilla vs. Kong” in 2020, as stated by Business Wire. The production for the first part is said to begun around October 19.
Warner Bros retained the rights for Godzilla and will also work as distribution partner for Kong as per the alliance. Legendary on the other hand has paired up with Universal Pictures. Warner Bros and Legendary together released Godzilla in 2014 with a contract to release its second part also.
Tsujihara stated in an interview that both the companies are enjoying the creative and commercial success of “Godzilla” and hope to reprise it again.
Godzilla and King Kong are said to be portrayed in a huge ecosystem of giant species which will be pictured in an absolutely modern and classic way. The announcement of the 2020 battle “Godzilla vs. Kong” has buzzed the fans and social media.
