Gillian Flynn, the author of “Gone Girl” is planning to write a sequel to the thrilling story of Amy Dunne. The movie hit theaters in June 2012 with main stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, and it was a very chilling and twisting tale that has captivated a large audience. Flynn’s bestselling novel was adapted by David Fincher and now, it looks like fans can expect a “Gone Girl” 2.

During an interview with E! News, Flynn said, “I don’t know if I could go back to the Dunnes quite yet. I think about it every once in a while. I do. I do. It’s hard to shake sometimes.”

It seems like the Dunne family is forcing the “Gone Girl” author to think much deeper and a sequel would definitely be great because what happens now to pregnant Amy and Nick? In fact, Pike is up to play Amy again if ever there comes a sequel. Pike won an academy nomination for her “Gone Girl” role and in January she expressed her desire to see what the child has grown up to be.

Ever since the release of the movie, the book sales’ escalated and it became one of the bestselling novels of all time. It also remained on the New York Times Hardcover Fiction Top 8 Bestsellers List for eight weeks.

“Gone Girl” has drawn a lot of critics and an unusual end to the movie wherein the dysfunctional couple embraced each other while asleep. Indeed, it is one of the best thriller movies of all time.
