Previously on “The Good Wife” (“Tying the Knot” Season 5 Episode 19), Alicia (Julianna Margulies) went to the engagement party of Colin Sweeney, a former client, and Renata. She had to have him sign the financial disclosure to push through with the merger.  Sweeney’s company was merging with an animal testing company. His fiancé, Renata, was worried about it, so he had Alicia to convince her that it was okay. Moreover, Renata wanted to be part of the company. Sweeney signed the papers, and Alicia soon found out that he lied about his finances. Just as he was signing the papers with the corrections, Renata was screaming, saying that her friend, perhaps a lover, was dead in the bathroom.

Alicia, who was supposed to be just having the papers signed, was now a witness. During the interrogation with the police, they believed that Alicia was Sweeney’s alibi. They also recalled Alicia’s involvement in Sweeney’s instinctive manslaughter a few years ago.

The questioning seemed not to end as a lawyer asked Alicia why Sweeney has a torture chamber in his house. The couple claimed that it was for their sexual pleasure. Odd indeed. Aside from the interrogation, the lawyer showed a picture of a man to Alicia. His name was Dimitris. Alicia recalled of having seen him but was not sure. She also said that she saw Morgan crying after hanging up a call from someone named Dimitris.

Renata was arrested and was accused of murder. Because Alicia was a witness, Cary (Matt Czuchry) represented Sweeney, while Diane (Christine Baranski) represented Renata. But, before Alicia could appear in court, Sweeney engaged her in a little chat, instructing her to lie because he would lose his business. Unknown to Alicia, this was Dianne’s plan. Alicia asked Sweeney if he thinks that Renata killed Morgan. He said that he would just wait for the court’s decision. Fast forward . . . the decision came and Renata walked away after being set free.

Zach’s (Graham Phillips) photo with a bong was circulating the Internet. Eli (Alan Cumming) was obviously not happy about it. Zach denied that the bong was his. However, Zach’s friend called Alicia and told her that Zach was into “pot.” Meanwhile, Peter (Chris Noth) was in a conference talking about Marijuana when Alicia’s brother Owen, cracked about Zach and Alicia’s drinking habit.

It was an intervention for Zach as Owen and Alicia talked to him about pot. Of course he denied it, but he attacked Alicia about her marriage.
