“The Good Wife” Season 6 Episode 1 “The Line” aired on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on CBS. Cary was arrested, Diane raised her demands prior to transferring to Florrick-Agos and Alicia has not decided yet whether to run as State’s Attorney. Read on to learn more about this episode.
Previously on “The Good Wife” (Episode 1 “The Line”), it picked up where Season 5 finale left off, with Eli (Allan Cumming) still convincing Alicia (Julianna Margulies) to run as State’s Attorney. Eli talked to Peter (Chris Noth), whose intern was not wearing an underwear in this episode, to help him with Alicia.
Meanwhile, Diane (Christine Baranski) raised her demands before the transfer ensues. First, Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) must come with her, and second, she wants an equal say with Alicia and Cary. In the meantime, she told Canning (Michael J. Fox) and Lee (Zack Grenier) that she is retiring.
Cary (Matt Czuchry) was arrested and imprisoned for allegedly helping Lemon Bishop (Mike Colter) with his drug dealings. Bishop thought that Cary might turned him over so he came after him. Cary, on the other hand, said he would not. As a proof, he let Bishop’s guy sliced his hand open, and he kept this from Alicia and Diane. Bishop believed Cary, and he would spend $1.3 million to bail him out. However, the bail was questioned because the judge thinks that it was from ill-gotten gains, which is true. Alicia asked Diane to step in.
In addition, “The Line” also saw the return of Kelli Giddish as Sophia Russo, Kalinda’s ex-girlfriend, with John Ventimiglia’s first appearance as the detective who arrested Cary.
