“The Good Wife” comes back to CBS on Sunday, March 1, 2015, to showcase its first of the last 10 episodes, “Dark Money.” Movie News Guide (MNG) has scored some details on what fans can expect for the show’s comeback. WARNING: Read at your own risk. This article contains spoilers.
In an interview with TV Line, executive producers Robert and Michelle King revealed their plans on how will Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) exit “The Good Wife.” In an attempt to clear Cary’s (Matt Czuchry) name, Kalinda did everything possible, eventually leading her tied up to Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter). TV Line further asked whether they are planning for a “death” exit like what they did on Josh Charles’ Will Gardner. Michelle stated that nothing is set yet, but as much as possible, they want to make it “inevitable yet surprising.”
“A lot of what we’re doing is playing with audience expectations of how [Kalinda’s exit] might happen… We can’t turn water into wine, or black into white, but we can vary the expectations,” Robert explained on TV Line.
As for Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Kalinda’s scene together, although they did not confirm anything, the executive producers remarked that viewers must stay tuned.
For the upcoming episode “Dark Money,” Alicia, alongside opponent Frank Prady (David Hyde Pierce), will find herself “courting” Ed Asner, who plays a money donor.
“We wanted Ed Asner’s character to be a little more old world, to burst the bubble of a lot of Democrat instincts about their own worthiness and purity. We have him back for one more episode after this week,” Robert added.
