“The Good Wife” Season 5 Episode 18 “All Tapped Out” will air on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on CBS. Louis Canning joins Lockhart-Gardner, Dianne finds it difficult to work with him. Read on to find out more about MNG’s “The Good Wife” spoilers for Season 5 Episode 18 “All Tapped Out” including a brief recap of the last episode, “A Material World.”

Previously on “The Good Wife” (“A Material World” Season 5 Episode 17 air date: April 13, 2014), Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Diane (Christine Baranski) shared a toast while talking about how they disappointed their moms. Over liquor, the two talked about merging Lockhart-Gardner and Florrick-Agos. This move aimed to test the waters as the opposing firms handle a divorce case. Cary (Matt Czuchry) handled Carol Mercer, while David (Zach Grenier) was left with Asher Mercer.

Asher seemed to be involved in a romantic relationship with his nurse and was pushing for the divorce so he can remarry. But, Carol would not make things easier for her future ex-husband. She was holding to the Illinois law, which entitled her to delay the process for about six months or so. However, it seemed like it would not be the case as Diane stepped into the picture. Diane wanted the parties to have an amicable settlement.

David questioned Diane’s decision. Diane told him that she was in negotiations with Alicia about merging the firms. Obviously, David was furious about it. Adding insult to injury, Damian confirmed to David that he overheard Alicia and Diane talking about merging.

As for Will’s death, Jeffrey Grant’s father was looking for a scapegoat to acquit his son. Mr. Grant would stage the case and pass the blame to the state attorney’s unlawful prosecution. Alicia was worried about Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode), the State’s Attorney prosecutor, of being accused of something that he definitely did not do.

Finn soon learned that Jimmy Castro was investigating the case, and that he might be charged for the fallout. He then enlisted Alicia’s help.

Alicia was not doing well. So when the judge called for a recess, she went home and sulked in bed. Peter came, and he was worried about how Alicia was holding up to Will’s death. Pete tried to comfort Alicia by saying that she had just lost a friend, not a child or a husband. However, Alicia reminded him that she lost her husband a long time ago.

Meanwhile, David was busy talking about merging with Louis Canning. Will he be the new addition to Lockhart-Gardner?
