The most awaited prequel to “Batman” has premiered, “Gotham” TV series has now officially aired and what happened on its very first episode, titled “Pilot.”

The show started with what seems like to be the young Catwoman, Selina Kyle, going around town and rooftops, getting milk and even wallets from civilians until she came across the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Yes, the parents of Bruce Wayne. We all know how his parents died, it’s something especially “Batman” fans know by heart. The killer has a gruff voice and all we saw of him was his eyes and his built – that’s it. Could he be the Joker? That we still don’t know, but Detective Jim Gordon is willing to find out, and that’s what he promised the young Bruce Wayne.

We all know how cynical the town of “Gotham” is, which means that it could be difficult for our detective to bring justice with so many costumed villains who will run amok in the coming days, months and even years! Harvey Bullock, Jim’s partner was introduced and he was the complete opposite of Gordon, he’s lazy and he’d rather not deal with Wayne’s case. We also saw Gordon’s fiancé Barbara who seems to be having a dark past.

Fish Mooney, the first ever villain this season, was introduced and he was on a mission to usurp Carmine Falcone, a mob boss. However, Falcone is friends with Gordon’s father, the city’s district attorney. We also saw Oswald Cobblepot, or the Penguin, who’s very evil we just can’t contain his evilness. When we met him, he was working for Fish Mooney but also ratted out to the cops about Fish Mooney and her involvement for the Wayne murders. Later on, he was facing death and before that, he warned Gordon, “there will be chaos, rivers of blood in the streets,” and Gordon made it look like Cobblepot is dead while he lets him escape.

The first episode ended with Bruce sitting on the edge of a roof and Gordon came to him offering him his badge. Bruce was happy, but he wanted to handle the killer himself and he needed Gordon’s help, he handed back his badge.
