There’s a new villain in “Gotham” Season 1 Episode 14 “The Fearsome Dr. Crane,” and he feeds in fears and use it to kill. Meanwhile, Cobblepot was busted by Maroni. What’s going to happen now? Read below for the full recap.
The episode kicked off with a gruesome murder, and Bullock was the one who investigated the crime, who has become a bit paranoid since his partner, Gordon, put away one of the GCPD’s cops in the previous episode who wouldn’t mind doing the same thing to him as well.
Meanwhile, the Penguin was having problems of his own. He might have helped Falcone get rid of Fish Mooney, but he’s not entirely sure that she was killed. And of course, Mooney is alive, and just like the Penguin anticipated and feared of, she ratted him out to Maroni. Surprisingly, he got an invite from Maroni to go on a business trip, but of course this was just a trap because he brought Cobblepot to a cabin to interrogate him. Penguin was able to defend himself and was about to shoot Maroni when Maroni got him and knocked him out. Maroni was planning to kill Penguin and send the remains to Falcone. However, once again, Cobblepot managed to escape. Now that he was able to escape the grasp of Maroni, in the mobster world, it was now clear that Penguin is Falcone’s man.
Bullock met a community volunteer who deals with a support group for people with phobias to track down the killer or this episode’s villain, her name’s Scottie Mullens, and it does look like Bullock has a crush on her that he keeps on messing up his words when talking to her. This was actually really cute. Speaking of relationships, this one’s not new, though, but things between Gordon and Thompkins are getting better.
Another attempted gruesome murder happened and a pattern has formed because the murders involve the victims’ fears. The killers uses his victim’s fears to kill and this dawned on Bullock that the killer might just be someone within Mullens’ group. Dr. Crane, the killer, kidnapped Mullens and brought her to a poll that Mullens almost drowned in when she was still a child. Gordon and Bullock got to the area but before that, Crane’s son, Jonathan, saw what he was doing, but Crane managed to talk to his son who looked pretty shocked and innocent, by the way, and told him that what he’s doing is for the greater good.
When Bullock and Gordon got there, they were able to save Mullens, but Crane and Jonathan managed to escape.
