Weeks before the Gotham Season 3 premiere, it has been confirmed that Bella Thorne’s Amityville: The Awakening co-star Cameron Monaghan is reprising his role as Jerome Valeska. The death of his character in the second season of the Fox crime series shocked fans in 2015.
Executive producer John Stephens told Zap2it that it is 100 percent their intention to bring Jerome back. He added that they are “basically extending the idea of the cult of Jerome” and they are “building the architecture” for Monaghan’s character to come back.
“Setting the stage that if there is a Season 4, hopefully we’ll bring that back in a much bigger way,” Stephens told the publication. “And you’ll see these different versions of the Joker myth.”
According to Stephens, there are underground movements that have started to discuss Jerome and what he represented. How the character is going to come back like in the days of John the Baptist is also being talked about.
What Stephens assured fans is that Jerome will not be the “same maniac” he used to be. He is going to have a fantastic reintroduction, the executive producer said.
Stephens explained that Jerome will have his own transformation. He added that the character’s new version has something to do with the upcoming changes in the story when he comes back.
