Graceland” Season 3 Episode 4 “Aha” aired last Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on USA Network. In this episode, following the events of the previous episode, FBI Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) tried to help Ari Adamian (Rhys Coiro) remember what had happened the night before. During the episode, mostly presented in black and white, it was shown how the Graceland team came together to help Briggs pull this off. Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began right after the events of the previous episode, Season 3 Episode 3 “Sense Memory,” which aired on July 9, 2015.

FBI Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) went to Ari Adamian (Rhys Coiro) and helped put away his bloody clothes. They also discovered some cigarettes on him that were mentholated, and weren’t his, and that his fingers had gotten burned. After discovering two cans of gasoline and a receipt from Sun Valley, the pair decided to leave for there. Before leaving, Briggs got a text from someone saying that “M was on the move”. Ari also discovered that his fingers had gotten burned and that he couldn’t remember what had happened to him.

At the convenience store, they encountered FBI Agent Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit). He fired upon them as he had gotten punched by Ari early that morning for not having his brand of cigarettes. However, Mike, who had just sworn off pain medication,  just had made up on, thanks to FBI Agent Catherine “Charlie” DeMarco (Vanessa Ferlito).

Ari then told Mike to lie to Martun Sarkissian (Peter Stormare), who was pulling up as ICE Agent Dale “DJ” Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) posed as someone from a credit card company reporting activity on Layla Sarkissian’s (Maryam Cne) credit card, which Ari had used there. After discovering that Layla was missing, they headed up to the Sarkissian family cabin, where Ari and Layla used to secretly meet. On the way there, Ari revealed that he remembered meeting Layla at Nancy’s.

There, they discovered footprints and drag marks, which really had been caused by FBI Joe “Johnny” Tuturro (Manny Montana) dragging DJ along. It led to a pile of burnt rubber tires with bones, Layla’s ring, and a motel key card in it. However, the bones really belonged to a monkey.

They then discovered a cigarette and a match burned down to the very end. It meant that Ari had been the one who had killed Layla as his fingers were burned.

Ari and Briggs then headed to the motel, where they discovered a bloody motel room, which they began to clean. Afterwards, Ari douses the room in gasoline. It was after discovering that they couldn’t rid the mattress of blood, and became lost in thought after lighting the match.

In reality, Charlie and Mike had shot a bloodied pig’s head on the bed and sprayed red paint all over the place. While there, Mike told Charlie that he was looking for the “right case,” and agreed to help Charlie out with her own case.

It was then shown that DJ had drugged Ari, and DEA Agent Paige Arkin (Serinda Swan), in Layla’s dress and ring had baited him to go outside. Paige then changed, then rammed Ari’s car into the garage, smeared red paint on him, marked his collar with lipstick, and Paige left a burning match in his right hand.

However, Ari realized that they had burned the wrong hand, and after talking to someone one the phone about Colby Moore (Evan Jones) forced Briggs at gunpoint to the Deluxe Inn.

It was then shown that Colby had lured Layla there, drugged her and had had given her dress and ring to Paige, who then went to Nancy’s. However, that morning, while waiting, Martun had shown up inside the motel room.

Upon arriving at the motel, Ari showed Briggs that Colby had been tortured and killed, and told him that they need to “have a talk” with each other.
