While the residents of Graceland attended DEA Agent Paige Arkin’s (Serinda Swan) awarding ceremony at the Department of Justice, FBI Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) bought a small gun, and FBI Agent Joe “Johnny” Tuturro (Manny Montana) accompanied  LAPD Gang Task Force Sid Markham (Carmine Giovinazzo) into Mexico through a secret passageway. It led into a club where they were to wait for Carlito Solano’s (Erik Valdez) man.

Afterwards, FBI Agent Catherine “Charlie” DeMarco (Vanessa Ferlito) told Paige to be happy about the award. He told her that she was throwing her a dinner that night in order to convince her to stay at Graceland. FBI Agent Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit) then tried to talk to Paige, but she refused to talk to him.

Back at Graceland, Paul told Mike that he was planning on putting Ari Adamian (Rhys Coiro) down before he himself is drowning in murder charges, which Mike thought wasn’t a good plan. Before leaving, Paul warned Mike to be careful about his pain medication as it could turn into an addiction, which it was turning into. Mike took more pills than prescribed every time a wave of pain engulfed him.

Paul then accompanied Ari who had him dangle computer chip billionaire  Ty “Chester Cheeto” Gillibrand (Rusty Allison) from a bridge in order for him to sign a contract that would allow Martun Sarkissian (Peter Stormare) to have a chip containing software for a missile.

At the office, Paul tried to gather up courage to shoot Ari in the back, but realized that it wouldn’t work. He accepted the task of making sure that Ari’s girlfriend, Layla Sarkissian (Maryam Cne), the daughter of Martun, was taken care of so that her father wouldn’t suspect Ari and Layla’s relationship.

Meanwhile, at the club, Johnny cuffed Sid to a door, overpowered Carlito’s man. He lied to Sid that Carlito had sent his man to give him money. He then made a deal in which he would help Sid get his money so that Johnny could finally free Lucia Solano (Jamie Gray Hyder) from her brother.

Charlie then paid a visit to Amber (Brit Morgan), who told her that she would be able to help Charlie out, if they both went to Florida, where she knew someone who “cleaned” Germaine Marsden’s (Russ Bain) cash.

Meanwhile, Mike confronted FBI Special Agent in Charge Sean Logan (Lawrence Gilliard) in order to get Paul off of his undercover assignment with Ari, but it backfired on him. However, he did manage to get cleared for duty, and lied that he was comfortable with the ten pieces of pain medication he was supposed to have left. He now only had three tablets left, which he downed later that night. He also revealed to ICE Agent Dale “DJ” Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) that he had been sent back for a purpose.

In Mexico, they Sid and Johnny confronted Carlito, but as Sid and Carlito fought and struggled on the floor, Johnny was reminded that Lucia would die if Carlito died. This caused Johnny to kill Sid instead.

Back at Graceland, Charlie’s dinner for Paige quickly went south. It was after Paul discovered that she was going to Florida with Amber. Because of this, Charlie asked Paige to drive her to a clinic where she planned to lose the baby. Afterwards, she had Paul pick her up, and didn’t reveal that she had decided to keep the baby.

Before Paige drove Charlie to the clinic, Mike told Paige what really happened to Lena. He told her to let the award be a reminder of what she did right, and asked her to stay. Afterwards, Paige smiled while looking at the award.

Later that night, Paul, in a ski mask, ran into Layla’s car and went out to confront her.
