“Graceland” Season 3 Episode 11 “The Wires” aired last Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. on USA Network. In this episode, while things moved forward in FBI Agent Catherine “Charlie” de Marco’s (Vanessa Ferlito) and ICE Agent Dale “DJ” Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) plan against Germaine Marsden (Hal Oszan); FBI Agent Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit) and DEA Agent Paige Arkin (Serinda Swan) began to piece together what FBI Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) was truly up to, as tensions mounts between the Sarkissians and the Soto Street Gang. Read on to learn more about this episode.
The episode began with the matriarch and leader of the Soto Street Gang, Theresa Arrabuena (Terri Hoyos) taking pity on FBI Agent Johnny Tuturro (Manny Montana). He had been jumped on by Javier “Javi” Arrabuena (Reynaldo Gallegos) and his crew. She then invited him over the next day, which meant that he was officially undercover with them.
However, after returning home in that state, FBI Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) began talking about pulling the plug on the operation, which caused Johnny to decide to stay under. After Briggs left, FBI Agent Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit) told Johnny and DEA Agent Paige Arkin (Serinda Swan) that Briggs had just managed to manipulate them yet again into doing what he wants. He told them that he believed that Briggs had manipulated Mike into finding the sarin gas, thanks to the notes that he had scrawled all over his own notebook.
Meanwhile, ICE Agent Dale “DJ” Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) and FBI Agent Catherine “Charlie” de Marco (Vanessa Ferlito) set up a fake bank. Jakes was supposedly the owner, in an attempt to cut out Germaine Marsden (Hal Oszan) from the equation.
The plan was that Jakes would try to woo Germaine’s biggest client to launder money through Jakes’ bank. It would mean that the FBI and the ATF wouldn’t need Germaine anymore.
This, of course, worked like a charm after Charlie attempted to arrest Germaine, who was immediately released by ATF Agent Avery Stanwood (Sope Aluko). However, that was long enough for Jakes to persuade Paolo Calvacanti (Jordi Vliasuso) to work with him. This, in turn, got Stanwood to agree to arrest Germaine for good.
However, while confronting Germaine, he tried to provoke her, in an attempt to accuse her of brutality but failed.
In the process, Jakes met Courtney (Annie Ilonzeh), a corporate attorney whom he had hit if off with before talking to Paolo.
Meanwhile, while planning for the funeral of Aria Adamian’s (Rhys Coiro) uncle, Martun Sarkissian (Peter Stormare) declared a cease-fire between the Sarkissians and the Soto Street gang, but decided to heed Brigg’s advice to have guards.
However, as Johnny had called Briggs to warn him that Javi was going to cut off the head of Eva Torres (Erica Camarano), Briggs convinced Ari to strike while Javi was vulnerable. Ari then killed Javi and cut off his head to have it sent to Theresa Arrabuena, while Briggs gave Eva cash in order for her to disappear.
Meanwhile, Mike and Paige, in trying to figure out how Briggs got his hands on the sarin gas in the first place, ended up going to the Santa Barbara pier, where, thanks to the pier’s security footage, showed Briggs unloading the crate into a boat.
Johnny then called Mike up as Javi’s head had just arrived in a box. It meant that the Street Sotos were going to hit the Sarkissian’s during the funeral, as Briggs had predicted. He told him that there were bringing along a very suspicious-looking metal box, that probably had the sarin gas in it, which, along with the fact that Gusti “Vin” Kadek Pendit (Mahedi Rakib) seemed to know who Odin Rossi is, confirmed Mike’s suspicions that Briggs had set everything up, from Mike finding the sarin gas case, to the impending gang war on their hands.
He then told Paige that they had to get to Los Angeles as soon as possible.
