There are only three episodes left in the second season of “Graceland,” and the team has never been more divided before — both in their professional and personal lives — trying to take down Mexican gang leader Carlito Solano (Eirk Valdez) and his guardian angel Sid Markham (Carmine Giovinazzo). Right now, the team has accomplished so much in their current operation, but when they finally do have that final showdown, how can the team put out an all-out offensive attack if they are divided? The upcoming episode also promises to answer several questions and issues, such as the reemergence of the tape that accidentally recorded FBI Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) killing FBI Agent Juan Badillo (Pedro Pascal). WARNING! This article contains spoilers for “Graceland” Season 2 Episode 11 “Home,” which will air on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. on USA Network. Read on to learn more about this episode.
In “Head of the Pig” (air date: Aug. 20, 2014), Paul Briggs’ received an anonymous call, and the other line played a recording of him killing FBI Agent Juan Badillo (Pedro Pascal), who went undercover as Paul’s nemesis, Caza Cartel hitman Jangles.
However, according to the exclusive sneak peek on Spoiler TV, Paul revealed to ICE Agent Dale Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) that he knows that their current leader, FBI Agent Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit), was the one who had called him and played the tape for him. It is not clear yet what Mike’s intentions with the tape are, but it seems only natural that he now has the tape as he was trying to investigate Juan’s death. Juan was his case handler in his investigation on Paul Briggs in the first season.
In the clip, Paul confided in Jakes, who also knows the truth behind what had happened that night. Paul told Jakes that Mike was playing it for him and that if Mike thought that they were focusing on Sid for now, it might give him a chance to get back the tape. He also revealed that if Mike wanted him to finish off Sid, Mike would have enough evidence to arrest him on two murder counts, and Paul could never let that happen, as he wanted to be able to be there for his and Charlie’s child. Based on the look on Paul’s face and Jakes’ reaction on what Paul is planning to do, Mike’s fate is not looking too good. However, Jakes told Paul that this time, he is out, as he will not cover or give alibis for Paul anymore.
Meanwhile, DEA Agent Paige Arkin (Serinda Swan) and Mike’s relationship doesn’t seem like it will be patched up soon. According to TV Guide, Mike thanked Paige for getting him out of the sex trafficking compound where he was staying undercover in order to make sure that the smuggled Eastern European girls would be safe. He does mentions that they were able to get a lot of things accomplished. However, he was still a little bit suspicious on who exactly was behind Sid’s raid on the compound. Paige has her own reservations as she suspects that Mike knows more than he is letting on about the death of the Eastern European girl she had befriended.
What do you think will happen in the next episode? What will Paul do to Mike, and will he be able to get the tape back? Will Jakes keep his word of not covering up for Paul anymore? Let us know what you think by posting your comments below.
