“Graceland” Season 2 Episode6 “The Unlucky Ones” airs on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. on USA Network. The team prepares to save Paige. WARNING: Spoilers ahead! Read only if you want to learn more about the spoilers for Episode 6 “The Unlucky Ones,” including a brief recap of Episode 5 “H-A-Double-P-Y.”

Previously on “Graceland” (“H-A-Double-P-Y” air date: July 16, 2014), Johnny Tuturro (Manny Montana) tried to break up a fight between Carlito (Erik Valdez) and Lucia (Jamie Gray Hyder) Solano, saving Lucia from Carlito’s temper, while risking his position as the FBI mole in the Solano gang as he ended up punching Carlito in the face.

Meanwhile, DEA Agent Paige Arkin (Serinda Swan) tried to cheer FBI Agent Mike Warren (Aaaron Tveit) and their current team leader with the Shirley Temple song “You Gotta S-M-I-L-E (to be H-A-Double-P-Y).” She reassured him that they were able to gain a break through when ICE Agent Dale ‘DJ’ Jakes   (Brandon Jay McLaren) discovered the contraband the Solanos were smuggling across the border in several drums full of waste. However, Paige herself was nowhere near solving her case involving Eastern European girls or ‘Tinker Bells’ who were forced to swallow balloons of heroin in exchange for safe passage into America. However, Paige was able to discover that the girls were not just being used as drug mules but will be sold by a human trafficking ring as sex slaves.

FBI Agent Jessica Foster (Emily Rose), Mike’s boss swung by the Graceland house in order to tell them that they are shutting down the entire operation and that they only have a week in order to wrap things up.

Meanwhile, Jakes had started drinking and spent the past night with a blonde hooker with a heart of gold. He showed up late for work and used his drunkenness in order to find out when the next Bus 118, the specific bus that the Solanos used to smuggle their contraband and the ‘Tinker Bells’, would be coming into the station. However, because of his drunken display, he was dismissed.

To his surprise, his young son, Daniel, showed up on his doorstep. As Daniel’s mother has filed a restraining order against him, Jakes decided to send Daniel home. However, the blonde hooker stepped in and persuaded Jakes to spend some much needed quality time with his son. The trio spend a wonderful day at the park, but after Daniel was safely seen home, the blonde hooker left him alone.

Paige, on the other hand, was not pleased with Mike or Jessica, especially as Jessica denied Paige a team to assist her with her human trafficking case. Mike became further and further trapped between the new and the old — the ambitious FBI Agent Jessica Foster, and the amiable DEA Agent Paige Arkin.

Paige, who was willing to sacrifice her own feelings for Mike, persuaded him to convince Jessica to agree to give her back a team. This did not pay off, as Mike told Paige that the reason why Jessica refused her a team was because he (Mike) did not have his priorities straight. This prompted Paige to grab Jakes to go off on their own mission to hunt down the human traffickers before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, the team discovered that Johnny hadn’t blown his cover, as Carlito had feelings for Johnny. They convinced him to use this to their advantage to get Carlito to pick up the shipment of contraband in the CalCoast station himself. Johnny had Carlito to do so, and they made their way towards the bus station, with Charlie De Marco (Vanessa Ferlito) and Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) tailing them, while Mike, Jessica and the FBI team waited. However, Carlito received a tip on his cell phone and canceled the pick up. As the FBI team closed in on the contraband to seize the evidence, the drums of waste and evidence blew up in their faces. Despite Jessica’s reassurances, Mike realized that someone from the FBI must have leaked the information to Carlito. He then disappeared after taking one of the men who work in the bus station with him.

Paige was able to come into contact with Anika, an Eastern European girl wearing a ‘Tinker Bell’ back pack. She got her to agree to wear a wire, assuring her that they, Paige and Jakes, would be close behind her. Paige encouraged Anika to throw up the balloons of heroin in her stomach. However, one of the balloons ruptures in her stomach, and she went into seizures. Paige was forced to swallow the balloons and take Anika’s place instead. She desperately informed Jakes of the situation. However, Jakes was nowhere to be found, as he was arrested for violating his restraining order, leaving Paige defenseless and utterly alone.
