Obviously, its about astronauts being stranded in mid space so its was going to be interesting, but actually makes it worth the while is the cools of George Clooney and well Sandra Bullock.
A rock of a cast in these two alone, Gravity released in Venice on August 28, and worldwide today October 4. Did anyone expect it to make ripples in the box office pond? Well, just about everyone.
The Venice premiere and Prerelease screening have given it a hype of nearly $45million in estimated sales and so far the only competition that it is seeing is from none other than Runner Runner.
Well, that’s one hell of a thing too: could anything be more luscious than Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake tagged together? We’re about to see pretty soon aren’t we? On statistical notes, Runner Runner is expected to muster just $10million so its not much of a competition.
Coming back to Gravity, it has seen a lot before getting to the point of being the most awaited: Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Universal Pictures have all come and gone from its side.
For those who don’t know much about Alfonso, he is the man behind Children of Men, the award jury loved but Box Office disappointment. He took 7 years with his son to churn out Gravity.
