Green Lantern Corps is underway, however, there is still no news about who will be playing Green Lantern. A shortlist was revealed just recently with the names of the actors being considered to play Hal Jordan.

The list includes Bradley Cooper and fans think he is perfect for the role of Hal Jordan.

Cooper is one of the best-looking actors in Hollywood. His looks are something that matches that of Hal Jordan’s. In the comic books, Hal is one of the charming guys who does not follow orders.

Cooper has played a charming character before and not following orders is something that will go really well with his character. Going by his looks alone, he can play the flirtatious and charming fighter pilot who gets chosen by the power ring to become the next Green Lantern.

Apart from the looks, he is also one of the fittest actors in the business. Movies like The A-Team and American Sniper has shown his strong and manly physique. Since he already is muscular, working for a superhero body wouldn’t be too much of an effort.

Nearing the age of 40 puts him perfectly in the required age for the role. An update some time back stated that the studio is looking to cast an older Hal Jordan and a younger John Stewart.

With an older Hal guiding a younger John on how to be a Lantern, Cooper will fill the shoes of the older Hal perfectly. Also, it would be interesting to see how do the two characters blend in Green Lantern Corps.

Marvel contract

Kevin Feige gave an interesting statement when Avengers: Infinity War star Josh Brolin was cast as Cable in the X-Men cinematic universe.

With Brolin playing two characters in two different cinematic universes, Feige himself stated that Marvel Studios’ contract does not have anything written about the roles that their actors can do.

If Brolin can play two characters in two different universes, Cooper can also take on the role of Green Lantern for DCEU whilst playing Rocket Raccoon for MCU.

With him being a part of both the cinematic universes, he will be able to play two characters completely different from each other. This would also help him get a wider fan base from both the comic book camps.

John Stewart

Until now rumors have only discussed Hal Jordan’s casting. However, when it comes to the other Lantern John Stewart, there has been no update.

But this has not stopped suitable actors from pitching themselves for the role. Sterling K. Brown is one such talented actor who threw his name in the ring for the role of Stewart.

BamSmackPow reported that Brown threw his name in the list for Stewart along with other actors. He explained that he has not launched an official campaign for the role but did mention about it in a tweet.

He also offered an update about his pursuit for the role. According to him, there has been no update as of now but that has not discouraged him at all. Other than Brown, rapper Common, Furious 7 star Tyrese Gibson and Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes have been associated with the role.

The Wrap, on the other hand, reported the shortlist that was released some months back are considering Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Cruise.

Green Lantern Corps is scheduled to release in 2020.
