“Grimm” Season 4 Episode 4 "Dyin' on a Prayer" aired on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) and Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby) investigated a possible homicide of an abusive ex-husband and a Wesen. Read on to learn more about this episode.
"Last Fight" ended with two men wearing masks. It seemed like they were about to go to the spice shop, where Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), his wife Rosalee Calvert (Bree Turner) and Capt. Sean Renard's mom Elizabeth Lascelles (Louise Lombard) were trying to reverse the spell done by Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee).
In "Dyin' on a Prayer," it was revealed that the two men just want to threaten the newlyweds Monroe and Rosalee, as they were a mixed breed. According to Elizabeth, the men hate them because the couple are “different” Wesens, and they invited Grimms in their wedding.
Before Siegbarste, a Wesen, died, he went to the house of his ex-wife drunk. He had a bad temper and frightened his ex-wife, Sarah, and his son, David. Luckily, they were able to escape from him. Sarah and David stayed in the hospital, and her brother Ben (Fischer) arrived to check on them. In order to avenge his sister, he took a scroll and performed a ritual.
Siegbarste died as the Golem (non-Wesen) appeared. He died from asphyxiation by clay. Siegbarste’s brother wanted to avenge his death.
Meanwhile in the office, Capt. Sean Renard appeared, and the police welcomed him. Sergeant Drew Wu (Reggie Lee) took the chance to talk to Sean about Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) and why Nick was protecting her.
Ben confessed to Nick and Monroe about the supernatural crime. He unveiled the secret of the scroll. The problem here was how they would report it as something related to supernatural world.
The brother then went to Sarah's home as he believed that she killed Siegbarste. Sarah was able to call the police for help. When the brother was his way home, his truck got stuck in a mud. When he checked the tire, the mud formed into a creature until it became a Golem. Just like what he did to Sarah’s ex, the brother died due to asphyxiation. Nick, Ben and Monroe were able to track where the brother went. When they arrived, he was already dead.
They found out that whenever anyone would cause harm to David or whenever he is endangered, the Golem will appear to protect him. So the only way to beat the Golem is to make David feelthreatened.
When they arrived at Sarah's home, Nick acted like he was going to arrest David, and this frightened him. The Golem appeared. They needed to put the scroll in the mouth of the Golem. However, it was too strong. When Trubel tried to protect Nick, the Golem almost killed her, but David came into the rescue by stabbing the Golem. When the Golem disappeared, they realized that David can control and beat the Golem.
Nick, Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch) and Trubel were preparing dinner when Monroe, Rosalee and Elizabeth arrived. They informed Nick that there's only one thing missing — who's the key element between Juliette and Trubel?
