The second season of the workplace comedy series “Ground Floor” is set to begin this coming Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. on TBS. In line with this, the show has released a special holiday video for its fans. Find out what this is about in the story below.
Presented on TBS’ official site, the teaser to “Ground Floor” features its two lead actors, Skylar Astin and Briga Heelan, singing a beautiful rendition of the Christmas classic “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” You can watch the video below.
Astin and Heelan play the couple, Brody and Jenny, in the series. Their characters met in the building where they work, which was the foundation of the story in the pilot episode. The two actors are not shy about singing, as they both have a background in musical theater and did stage performances before landing key roles on “Ground Floor.”
Astin was cast in the Broadway production of “Spring Awakening” in 2006 and also did “Rent” under the direction of Neil Patrick Harris on stage. The actor also takes the lead in the blockbuster “Pitch Perfect” movie, whose second installment will be coming to theaters in May 2015.
Heelan, meanwhile, studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, believing she would be doing musicals for the rest of her life. The actress, however, got her big TV break on television in the comedy series, “Cougar Town,” which also airs on TBS.
“Ground Floor” follows the story of a young aspiring financial expert (Brody, played by Astin) who meets and has a one-night stand with an office staff (Jenny, played by Heelan). He later discovers that Jenny actually works on the ground floor of his office's building, where the maintenance and support service staff are. The differences in their background, however, did not stop them from having a relationship, despite what their co-workers say.
The show, created by Bill Lawrence and Greg Malins, started its 10-episode run on TBS last November 2013 and was renewed for another ten episodes for the second season last March 2014.
Catch “Ground Floor” when it returns on the cable channel TBS this coming Tuesday, Dec. 9. 2014, at 10:00 p.m. Check back to Movie News Guide (MNG) for the show’s updates. Don’t forget to check out the special video from the show below.
