“Ground Floor” Season 2 Episode 8 “The Mansfield Who Came to Dinner” will air on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on TBS. Jenny invites Brody’s boss for a special dinner at her house, and Brody is a bit nervous because Jenny’s house isn’t exactly a “palace. “ Before we get into the details, here’s a quick run through of the previous episode.
In “Wicked Wedding” (air date: Jan. 20, 2015) Mansfield’s wife dropped by the office to follow up with her husband on the wedding planning. Their daughter was getting married, and Mansfield (John C. McGinley) asked the staff at the ground floor to prepare the wedding announcement. When Mansfield saw that Threepeat (Rene Gube) had an inclination for this sort of thing, he asked him to help his wife, who was pleased that Threepeat was indeed an asset to the preparations. However, Threepeat later realized that he was taking precious family time away from Mansfield, so the next time his wife asked for his help, he made up some excuse about work.
Mansfield got what Threepeat was doing and said that there are some stuff in his marriage that he enjoys doing with his wife. Wedding planning was not one of these. But since he has been missing his wife’s company, he relented and took part in the preparations again.
Meanwhile, Brody (Skylar Astin) learned that his girlfriend Jenny (Briga Heelan) was not the marrying type. He also learned that Jenny didn’t share his enthusiasm for musicals. He tried to convince her to enjoy the best musical he has loved since childhood, but sadly, Jenny fell asleep while watching “Wicked.” The second time they watched, she still wasn’t interested.
Jenny wondered why this was important for Brody, and he confessed that if he is able to change her mind about loving musicals, then he can also probably change her mind about wedding. But Jenny insisted that they don’t have to be married to share something together. Later on, Jenny was absent-mindedly humming to a song from “Wicked,” which Brody heard, and he knew that he actually made an impact on her, slowly but surely.
Spoiler Alert: “Ground Floor” Season 2 Episode 8 “The Mansfield Who Came to Dinner” will air on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on TBS.
In this episode, Jenny has dinner over at her tiny place. The guest of honor is Mansfield, as Jenny wants to thank him for sponsoring her college tuition. But Brody is not on board this dinner plans. He thinks his ultra-rich boss will belittle his girlfriend’s house, whose bedroom is part of the kitchen and dining room, and whose bathroom is a teeny tiny area.
Meanwhile, there’s extra tension during dinner as well with Harvard and Lindsay. The couple who never fights are suddenly thrusted in what looks like their first lover’s quarrel at Jenny’s get together.
Threepeat, on the other hand, is about to get his 15 minutes of fame when he becomes a financial correspondent. He realizes he’s not good in front of the camera and asks Derrick for some tips. Derrick, as it turns out, used to be a child actor.
The episode was written by Bill Martin & Mike Schiff with Phill Lewis as director.
