Walt Disney Pictures presents the film adaptation of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The sci-fi action film is set to open on August 1, 2014 in U.S. theatres. It is directed by James Gunn. Some of its cast members include Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Chris Pratt (Star Lord/Peter Quill), Karen Gilan (Nebula), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser), David Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Laura haddock (Meredith Quill) and Benicio Del Toro (The Collector/Taneleer Tivan). “Guardians of the Galaxy” Film Synopsis:
Marvel has already released an official synopsis of the film. Spoiler alert! The story is about Peter Quill’s quest to find Ronan, who stole a mysterious orb and has plans on conquering the universe. To help Quill defeat Ronan, he proposes a truce among the misfits: Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Rocket and Groot.
However, when Quill finds out the true power of the orb and the destruction it can bring to the cosmos, he must find a way to enlist his rivals and fight together to save the galaxy.

Ronan the Accuser – His body can adapt to any hostile environment he is currently in. He can turn invisible and has a strength-enhancing weapon. He uses the most powerful of universal weapon wielded by his kin, the Accusers.
Gamora – She has no power, but her abilities serve her well. She is a gymnast, an athlete, and does well in hand-to-hand fight. Her weapon is called Godslayer.
Peter Quill/Star Lord – He wears a costume that help him adapt in space. He can fly and heal using his energy shields. He uses the Element Gun as his weapon, which can control water, air, fire and earth.
Rocket Raccoon – He has heightened senses, far better than humans. He is a strategist and adept in using high-powered firearms. He uses pistols as his weapons.
Drax the Destroyer – He has superhuman strength and durability. He is also indestructible in all kinds of injury. He has no weapon, but he can fly by utilizing cosmic energy.
Groot – He has a power to regenerate his body parts. However, Groot is susceptible to fire.
Meanwhile, in an interview, Chris Pratt categorized the movie as a space opera-type story.
“Guardians of Galaxy is Marvel’s take on a rocking, space opera-type story, and it’s so imaginative. Not really allowed to say even that, but I’m beyond excited,” said Pratt in the Examiner.com report.
Moreover, in Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, 99% of moviegoers would like to see this film.
