Chris Pratt and Sarah Silverman to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ in Its 40th Season

Fresh from its success, “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” Star-Lord, Chris Pratt, will be heading out to host “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), along with Sarah Silverman. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

According to Variety, “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt will be kicking off Season 40 of “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), hosting its first episode. Pratt will debut as host on Sept. 27, 2014, along with Ariana Grande, who will be also be making her “SNL” musical guest debut. Grande’s “My Everything” is currently at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

Pratt is known for his television role as Andy Dwyer in the NBC comedy mockumentary, “Parks and Recreation.” Throughout his early career, he was known for playing supporting characters such as Scott Hatteberg in “Moneyball,” U.S. Navy SEAL Justin in “Zero Dark Thirty,” Paul in “Her” and Brett in “Delivery Man.” By 2014, Pratt as cast as a lead in the computer-animated film, “The Lego Movie,” where he voiced Emmet Brickowski. He then starred as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which has become third and first highest-grossing feature films of 2014, respectively.
Pratt is currently working on the final season of “Parks and Recreation.” He will be seen next on “Jurassic World,” which is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2015 and the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel, where he will reprise his iconic role.

Moreover, Sarah Silverman will return to host in the second episode of “SNL’s” 40th season. Silverman was a cast member of the show from 1993 to 1994. This will also be her first time hosting SNL. Musical Guest is Maroon 5, who has already appeared four times on the show.

Silverman was a writer and occasional performer for 18 weeks on “SNL” and starred in and produced “The Sarah Silverman Program,” which ran from 2007 to 2010 on Comedy Central.
She has also starred in films including “Who’s the Caboose?”” School of Rock,” “Wreck-It Ralph” and “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
