Stallone Might Play A Cameo

There is a possibility that Stallone will play a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Speculations are rife that he is playing a character named Starhawk, also known as Stakar Ogord.

These speculations started buzzing firstly when the Italian website MoviesBook, in its press release, teases who Sylvester Stallone plays. Secondly, the clue is dropped from an excerpt from the junior novelization of the sequel. This has helped fans to anticipate Stallone’s role in the sequel, reports Slashfilm.

Details Spilled By Italian Website

The details spilled by Italian Website MovieBook gives away the role details of Stallone. It reads that “Sylvester Stallone nel ruolo di Stakar.” As per aforementioned source, this translates to, “Sylvester Stallone in the role of Stakar.”

In the Marvel comics, there is a character called Starhawk. He is also called as Stakar Ogord. After learning from the above information, it seems that he plays the character Starhawk in the sequel.

Details Spilled By Novelization

Based on an excerpt from the junior novelization of the sequel, Stallone’s role details are discussed. In this, it is revealed that character Yondu comes across “a legend among the Ravagers.” But this character is an unnamed one.

The information that follows after this might reveal who Stallone is playing. This unnamed character talks about character Aleta. As per aforementioned source, Aleta is Starhawk’s sister. This again hints at the possibility that Starhawk’s character will be played by Stallone in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2.

James Gunn Talks About Stallone’s Role

Director Gunn has said that Russell and Stallone’s characters are a big part of the Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. As per aforementioned source he explains, “This is definitely not a one-off,” he continues, “…we’ve taken a lot of time to develop, and they’re a big part of the MCU now.”

So Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is not the last time where fans will watch these characters. Perhaps in Avengers: Infinity War fans will see once again Ego and Starhawk playing their respective roles.

Details About Starhawk In Comics

Fictional character Starhawk appears in Marvel comics. He is a super villain in the comics and was created by the writer Steve Gerber and artist Sal Buscema.

Starhawk’s powers are said to be immense and he actually played a role in helping the Guardians team in the alternate future reports Digital Spy. The report also adds that He has been a member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy. It will be interesting to see if Ayesha (the main villain in the sequel) has any connection to Starhawk.

Directed by James Gunn, the sequel will be released in the US on May 5 and it will be released on April 28 in the UK. The film stars, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Kurt Russell.
