Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle store, Goop, was robbed on Saturday when three assailants entered the shop in the afternoon and used an unspecified object to open a cabinet and steal items worth over 170,000 dollars.
NYPD reported that Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Mrkt lost valuables worth over 170,000 dollars last Saturday when three men carried out a hasty robbery in the afternoon. The police are referring to the theft as “Grand Larceny” indicating that it is something a little more grand in scale than a common robbery.
Goop’s spokesperson has confirmed the robbery, but he refused to comment on the matter.
The robbers allegedly entered the premises, used an unidentified object to open the cabinet, stole the loot, and fled the scene. The police received a 911 call at around 5:45 PM and rushed to the store which is located at Cabinet Circle in New York. No arrests were made and the police are still investigating the matter.
ET reports that the store employees have decided to keep the store open after the robbery. They have secured the store with greater measures of security and are hopeful that the event won’t repeat in future.
US Magazine reports that the shop was in business for only two weeks before the incident happened. Gwyneth had reportedly celebrated the opening of the shop with a quiet cocktail party which included friends like Drew Barrymore and Giancarlo Giametti. The shop was an extension of her online store which sells high-end lifestyle products via the internet. The Oscar-winning actress also has Goop lifestyle stores in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas.
We hope that the actress isn’t phased by the incident. We also hope that the police nab the robbers soon. It is laudable that the store decided to stay open even after the incident. It showed true grit in doing so.
