Halt and Catch Fire” Season 1 Finale Episode 10 “1984” aired on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, on AMC. The series wrapped up its freshman run after 10 episodes. Read on for the full recap.

Previously on “1984,” Donna and Gordon reconciled as husband and wife. It was after they struggled to keep their marriage together throughout the entire season. They found out that underneath that struggle, mistakes were made, but they were able to rise above it.

Gordon and Donna were at home after the drama at COMDEX. While Gordon was preparing to sleep on the couch, Donna just had enough of that kind of relationship and demanded that he get in their room and even shared a couple of laughs together.

It dawned on them that whatever happened between them, such as Donna’s infidelity and Gordon’s job-related neglect, were really about the real issues that were brought to the surface that night. They decided that it’s time to make things work once again, and nothing can ever be romantic in the world of technology when Gordon presented Donna the engagement ring he promised her years ago.

There was also a carjacking incident that happened to Donna and Gordon using their new Porsche. Donna may have never seen her two daughters again if things didn’t go well that night. On the other hand, Cameron started her own online company and managed to recruit some Cardiff’s employees.

So what happened to Joe? Well, with The Giant’s success, we thought that he’s in for a sudden realization that will turn his life around, but it didn’t. Joe burned a truck full of The Giant. Joe’s attempt surprisingly did not anger Gordon, who was now the head of the company.

As for Cameron and Joe, both of them have awesome visions especially when Joe saw the Macintosh. Well, thanks to Cameron’s very creative and futuristic mind. There’s a possibility that great things might happen for these two, while Gordon remains intact and unmoving, in love with the present instead of the future of computers.

The season ended with Joe going somewhere to find himself again. Cameron starts a company, which might be the next big thing in the future.
