New characters, new timeslot, and more blood! These are some of the things that await fans of NBC’s psychological thriller-horror series, “Hannibal” in its return for season 3.
Aside from the announcement of the release date of its new season, Christian Today cited that the show will also have a change in timeslot.
From its usual Friday schedule, “Hannibal” will now air every Thursday at 10:00 p.m.
The show’s upcoming season will also host a powerhouse cast including Richard Armitage who will star as “Red Dragon” Francis Dolarhyde. Playing alongside Armitage will be his character’s love interest, Reba (played by Rutina Wesley from “True Blood“).
Another guest character on season 3 includes “American Horror Story” alum Zachary Quinto, who will play as one of Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier’s patients, TV Line reported.
According to the outlet, Quinto’s character may hint that the show undergoes a series of flashbacks to the time when Dr. Bedelia (Gillian Anderson) killed someone while she was under someone else’s spell.
“The Divide’s” Joe Anderson, Nina Arianda, and Glenn Fleshler are some of the new faces that fans and viewers of “Hannibal” will see in its third season.
Creators have already confirmed that season three will follow the “Red Dragon.” It means that Dolarhyde will play a major role in the upcoming season. The outlet reported that Dolarhyde’s story will be one of the subplots in the other half of season three.
Fashion & Style also reported that season three will have more interesting episode titles, citing that the titles are inspired by Italian cuisines such as “Antipasto” for the first episode.
The outlet cited that the first half of season three will take place in Italy, where it will show what happened after the bloody massacre at Hannibal’s House of Horrors. The rest of the show will be filmed in Baltimore.
