Mads Mikkelsen played the role of Le Chiffre convincingly in “Casino Royale” and his performance in “Hannibal” is considered as one of his best till date. When reports about Mikkelsen being approached for “Doctor Strange” broke out, everyone was really excited as it could only mean another landmark role from the “Hannibal” star. According to Comicbook.com, Mikkelsen has been rumored to play the role of another villain in Benedict Cumberbatch starrer “Doctor Strange” but it turns out the actor himself is unaware of the developments going around back at Marvel.
The “Hannibal” actor recently shed some light on the topic and stated that he does not know anything more than what is already known. His participation in the movie has been a rumor until now and he’s just waiting to get a phone call from Marvel about it.
Mikkelsen also expressed how amazing it would be to be a part of the Marvel family since he along with many others have grown watching Marvel characters. Calling “Doctor Strange” as one of the interesting characters, he added that everyone has their choice of heroes. He hasn’t read for any part nor is he aware which role he will be playing, but he will surely be more than excited to be a part of the movie.
Cinema Blend added the “Hannibal” star’s comment that a deal with Marvel Studios has not been sealed yet. The media outlet suggested that probably Mikkelsen is currently in negotiations with the studio over the role they are offering him.
About two months back, Rachel McAdams mentioned that talks with Marvel about her role in “Doctor Strange” was not going anywhere but now she is officially playing the female lead in the movie. Despite what is being said, Mikkelsen is the perfect choice to play a second villain in “Doctor Strange” besides Chiwetel Ejiofor who is playing the role of Baron Mordo.
“Doctor Strange” starts shooting this November in London for a Nov. 4, 2016 release.
