Quentin Tarantino has said he loves Barack Obama and claims he is not a fan of Cate Blanchett movies and “True Detective.” Read on for more details.
Tarantino is famous for his honest interviews which turn rather brutally honest. He has been controversial for his opinions and claims. His latest rant, although not very controversial, is sure to upset a lot of people. He spoke about his likes and dislikes in an interview with New York Magazine. Primarily, he spoke about the exiting President Barack Obama, Hollywood-beloved Cate Blanchett and HBO phenomenon “True Detective.”
He claims he is a big fan of Obama and he is his favorite President of all time. Tarantino thinks people talk about other big Presidents all the time, but Obama has been best of the lot because of his “not giving a sh*t” attitude.
According to Entertaiment Weekly, the 51-year-old director believes that Obama has had the best ending for any President and the people who questioned him when he was elected as the first Black President of the United States, have got their answers.
Secondly, he said he is not a big fan of Blanchett and he is not excited about her upcoming film “Carol,” which is being pipped as an early favorite for the Oscars, especially for the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress (Rooney Mara) category.
Tarantino asserted that he doesn’t think her films are bad, but they don’t have the material to have a shelf life and won’t be remembered a few years from now. His view was on the entire trend of independent movies and he thinks that these films have grown big from just being famous for festival circuits to winning Oscars.
Also, Tarantino said he’s not a fan of HBO’s “True Detective” which has garnered almost a cult following among fans.
“I tried to watch the first episode of season one, and I didn’t get into it at all. I thought it was really boring. And season two looks awful.” Tarantino said.
