The episode began with the Five-0 Task Force training for an upcoming Tough Mudder event that had been organized for charitable purposes. It showed the team coaches and doctor, Captain Lou Grover (Chi McBride) and Doctor Max Bergman (Masi Oka), respectively, being a little bit tougher on Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan), who wasn’t keen on doing the Tough Mudder event.
After training, Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O’ Loughlin) received another strange phone call from an international number, who always hung up on him before he could properly figure out who it was. Steve suspected that it was Lieutenant Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth), but Danny suspected that it could also be his CIA globetrotting mother.
Afterwards, they were called in to investigate the death of Kevin Harper (Joseph Palmore), a restauranter being sued by his business partners for embezzlement, who had been killed in front of his wife and daughter, by a gun toting stunt biker, while he was being deposed.
They then later discovered that their gunman had escaped by jumping towards the roof of the other building.
After talking to Mrs. Harper (Victoria Pratt) and her daughter, Aubrey Harper (Spencer Locke), they discovered that the money had been going to paying protection money to the Samoan mob, who had been threatening them.
However, after Officer Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park) interrogated one of the Samoan mob’s bagmen, they discovered that the Samoan mob had never heard of Kevin Harper before.
Meanwhile, Detective Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim), after talking to Mike (Robbie Knievel), a good friend of his, about the bike that they had found. They discovered that the bike belonged to one of the members of the 808 Road Warriors, a group of stunt riders who flaunted the law, and who were connected to a string of truck heists.
After managing to capture them after they held up traffic while doing one of their stunts on a major highway, they managed to get one of the members, who worked as a fence for the crew, to flip on his comrades. It allowed the Task Force to discover that they were planning to hit a particular truck that night.
They then managed to interrogate their leader, who told them that one of the crew had suddenly decided not to show up that night. That member, Tyler Keheaku, who turned out to be Aubrey’s boyfriend.
It also turned out that the John Messer whom the company was bankrolling in large sums for consulting for the company, was Kevin Harper, and that the missing money had been going to his second family on Maui, thanks to an affair that had been going on for four years.
However, neither of his wives knew that he was married to the other.
The Task Force then realized that Aubrey had found out, and that Aubrey, after hiring her boyfriend to kill her father, had decided to have him killed during the deposition in order to make it seem that the entire thing was connected to the lawsuit against him.
Tyler and Aubrey then led the Task Force on a wile car and motorbike chase, which ended in Tyler dying after crashing into a car.
Afterwards, Steve assured Mrs. Harper that the judge might be more lenient towards Aubrey since she was a minor, and reminded her, after she saw her husband’s other wife in the precinct as Kono had brought her in to take a statement from her, that she was just as much of a victim as she was.
Later on, the entire team exhibit excellent team work with each other during the Tough Mudder event, and despite the fact that Danny had injured himself and ended up in crutches, they managed to emerge in first place.
