Hawaii Five-0” Season 5 Episode 18 “Pono Kaulike (Justice For All)” aired last Friday, Mar. 6, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on CBS. In this episode, the remaining members of the Five-0 Task Force and Joe White (Terry O’ Quinn) raced against time to save Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) who was captured from a South American prison for the death of Marco Reyes. They also need to save Lieutenant Detective Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) from helping Danny commit murder. However, in both cases, it turned out that there was more that met the eye. Read on to learn more about this episode.

Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) received a phone call from Joe White (Terry O’Quinn). He told Steve to get Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) to safety as something was going to happen to him. Danny, who was at Grace’s (Teilor Grubbs) school with Dr. Max Bergman (Masi Oka) for career day, was then arrested by the US Marshalls for murder. Lieutenant Detective Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) was arrested by Internal Affairs Detective Rex Coughlin (Robert Knepper) for several charges including “conspiracy to commit murder.”

At the Federal Detention Center, Sam Alexander (Raphael Sbarge), a member of the CIA, told Danny to sign the paper to waive extradition, but he refused to do so. Meanwhile, Joe picked up Steve. He got a flash drive from a store in Chinatown. He had files that proved that the CIA needed a fall guy to Reyes’ death. It was because he was an asset that they had an operation called Sandpiper.

It turned out that Wall Street had accidentally bought real estate from a development in South America. It was used in the development to launder drug money. Also, they needed Reyes to keep moving around drugs in order to prevent American banks from closing down. Then, Steve had not been arrested because he was a Navy SEAL. Officer Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park) then informed them that Chin Ho had been arrested. In the interrogation, Chin Ho realized that Gabriel Waincroft (Sean Christopher) hadn’t told them the reason why he had asked for the money in exchange for a transfer to a better cell in the prison.

Meanwhile, Danny told Alexander that he and Steve left the money at an orphanage. He realized that Reyes was being paid the CIA and that they needed a fall guy, even if Reyes killed his brother. He then refused to get a lawyer, and waived extradition in order to make sure that Steve didn’t go to jail as well. As he was being led away, he told Steve to talk to Grace. Meanwhile, Gabriel got Coughlin to promise to transfer him to Minimum Security, He wanted it in order to testify that he had paid off Chin Ho to get a better cell.

Afterwards, Steve and Joe confronted Alexander. It was after they learned that they had done this as Reyes was supposed to make a big deal with 1.3 billion dollars worth of cocaine. They bought themselves forty-eight hours to deliver the cocaine to him in exchange for Danny’s release and exoneration. Steve then went over to Grace and comforted her. Back at the headquarters, Joe told them that his source had informed him that they probably had hidden Danny’s brother in an old oil refinery that the CIA didn’t know of. They had learned about Matthew Williams’ existence after he had been killed, and reasoned that the cocaine was there.

They then decided to rescue Danny first. They flew over to Colombia to look for the missing cocaine. Later that night, Steve informed Alexander that they had destroyed the cocaine, and threatened to release everything that they had gathered on Sandpiper, which was on a flash drive. They revealed it to the public- including the fact that Colombian politicians and Alexander were being paid off by Reyes, in exchange for the safe return and exoneration of Danny. This came just in time as Danny was being beaten up by the prisoners and the guards. Danny had used his one phone call to talk to Grace instead of arranging for protection money.

Afterwards, Chin Ho was released. They had found that Coughlin had been killed by Gabriel, who then escaped from custody.

The next day, Danny told Steve that he didn’t get a lawyer. It was because he knew that killing Reyes was still wrong. He told him that he had protected Steve because he was family. After he reunited with Grace, Joe and Steve reconciled. Steve correctly deduced that his mother had given them the intelligence and that she was the reason why he hadn’t been arrested with Danny.

Later that night, Chin Ho got a phone call from Gabriel. He told him two words- “You’re Welcome” before he disappeared into an alleyway.
