Reports confirmed that 89 people were “killed at the Bataclan theatre during the Eagles of Death Metal concert,” due to the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks. Thomas Ayad, a Universal Music Group (UMG) executive, is one amongst them. According to Vulture magazine, the 34-year-old Ayad was an International Product Manager for Mercury Records, UMG’s sub-division.
Ayad was also Bieber’s close friend. Bieber, who was inconsolable after losing his dear friend in the tragedy, posted an emotional tribute to Ayad on Twitter on Nov. 16, reported Mail Online.
“Still thinking about Paris and my friend Thomas that we lost in the tragedy,” wrote Bieber.
“He was a part of the team for years and I wish I would’ve had more time to thank him,” the 21-year-old singer.
The pop star also mentioned that it is important to “appreciate people” while they are alive. Bieber then thanked Ayad for everything that he did for him. He finally expressed his “thoughts and prayers” to Ayad’s family and friends.
The source further reported that Bieber burst into tears on stage briefly after the Paris attacks, during his concert in Los Angeles. After the show, the singer tweeted expressing his prayers and thoughts with the families of the victims of the terrible tragedy.
Moreover, the pop star also paid his tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks. It was during his acceptance speech while receiving the inaugural HALO Hall of Fame Award in New York, on Nov. 14.
