Heidi Klum’s Sharper Image ads were banned in Las Vegas for being too racy. Apparently, the German supermodel’s nearly exposed breasts were excessively hot even for Sin City.
The Heidi Klum Sharper Image ad campaign features the 41-year-old model lounging topless and barely covered in undergarments and, in some instances, completely naked next to the electronic company’s products.
The black-and-white images of the model also feature suggestive questions, such as “What keeps Heidi Klum busy in the shower?” as published by UPI News and “How does Heidi Klum tune down the noise?” As well as “What makes Heidi Klum work up a sweat?”
Initially, the sensually provocative ads were disallowed at the Las Vegas International Airport for violation of the Clark County Code governing indoor advertisements, which prohibits “the showing of the female breast with less than a fully opaque covering or any portion thereof below the nipple,” UPI further stated. This code has been designed to safeguard families with young children that go through the airport on a daily basis.
While the Sharper Image has called the ads “beautiful” and “tasteful,” its ad firm Iconix Brand Group had to edit some of the images that were initially rejected and turn them over to airport officials for approval. All five ads are now slated to run from Jan. 3 to 9, 2015.
"Such give and take is common in advertising, and travelers in Las Vegas will see Ms. Klum's Sharper Image ads in place at McCarran,” Clark County Department of Aviation’s Public Information Administrator, Christine Crews told Yahoo! News.
As a consequence of the initially banned ads, Klum landed on Santa’s naughty list. The Inquisitr reports she posted an Instagram image of herself sitting on St. Nicholas’ lap at The Grove in Los Angeles, saying:
Santa…I have been naughty!!
Klum also posted an image of one of her risqué ads on the Santa Monica Boulevard where apparently, her naked form is allowed.
Klum, who states she is comfortable showing off her body, is no stranger to introducing sexed up images for the holidays. She once borrowed Santa’s suit sans the pants and posted a photo of this getup on Twitter in 2011. She also provocatively sang Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby” in a 2006 Victoria’s Secret ad.
