‘Hellboy 3’ Movie Update: Ron Perlman Says Film Will Be ‘Mindblowing’

Ron Perlman is thinking about “Hellboy 3” amidst thoughts of other gigs. The veteran actor candidly spoke with Variety about starring in the movie and other projects.

“It’s in Guillermo’s head. And he’s shared enough of it with me to know that it will be mind-blowing,” he told Variety.

It is rumored that “Hellboy 3” will be directed by Guillermo Del Toro and penned by Mike Mignola, the comic book genius who dreamed up the original “Hellboy” series. Fans are already excited to hear about the movie. Ron gained legions of fans just by talking about it on Twitter.

Ron Perlman told the reporters that the “Hellboy 3” was originally imagined as a three part story with a beginning, middle, and an ending. He said that he believed that the makers owe the fans a resolution on the story front.

Guillermo Del Toro has spoken about the plot of a potential “Hellboy 3″ albeit in a speculative way. The script is in no way final, but a sketchy theme was made apparent. While the first two films played up Hellboy’s destiny the third one may involve a sacrifice of apocalyptic proportions.

“The idea for it was to have ‘Hellboy’ finally come to terms with the fact that his destiny, his inevitable destiny, is to become the beast of the Apocalypse, and having him and Liz face the sort of, that part of his nature, and he has to do it, in order to be able to ironically vanquish the foe that he has to face in the 3rd film,” Del Toro told Cinema Blend.

Rumors about crowdfunding the “Hellboy 3” movie were doing rounds recently, as it was rumored that the studio producing the movie was not ready with the finance. Ron Perlman recently nixed the rumors by saying that he would not want to be involved in any crowdfunding campaign, saying that it was the producers’ job to generate funds and not the viewers.
