The much-anticipated cover of Taylor Swift’s “1989” album is out! Read on for more details.
40-year-old Ryan Adams has just released his cover of Taylor Swift’s “1989” album. Yes, he covered it in its entirety. According to Consequence of Sound, the album’s physical release on vinyl and CD will be available in the future. In the report, it was also mentioned that Adams and Swift will be interviewed on Monday afternoon by Zane Lowe on Beats Radio 1.
Just like Swift, Adams has a huge fan base. However, their fan bases are quite opposite to each other. The “1989” album contains mostly pop songs. Adams is known for his alternative country style, so he seemed like an unlikely candidate to do a reinterpretation of the said album. When Adams posted some snippets of his recording sessions online, Taylor Swift shared her excitement on Twitter and Instagram.
Even her cat, Olivia Benson, joined her in doing a countdown for the cover album’s release.
According to Gothamist, Adams has been teasing everyone since August. He dropped clips of his recording sessions in Los Angeles all over social media. After that, he stopped for a bit. Then he went back to New York City. People were worried that Adams would never release the cover album. On September 17th, Adams made an announcement on his Twitter account that the album will be released digitally on September 21st.
