Queen Latifah kicked off the 18th Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Nov. 14,2014 at the Palladium in Hollywood, California. The Hollywood Film Awards, which was created in 1997 by CarlBraos de Abreu, was televised for the first time on CBS. Keep reading  for further details.

According to Deadline, the actress-daytime TV host began the show with a monologue. She also noted that Hollywood Film Awards is the famous forecaster of Academy nominations.

 "I know what you're thinking: 'Did I miss the first seventeen Hollywood Film Awards?' You always remember your first," said Latifah in her monologue.

The Imitation Game” was the major winner of the evening with four awards. Other big winners of the night were "Gone Girl" (Hollywood Film Award), Benedict Cumberbatch (Hollywood Actor Award) and Julianne Moore (Hollywood Actress Award). Unlike most awards shows, only winners were there in attendance as the winners were informed ahead of time. So all the celebrities who appeared at the ceremony were either winners or presenters.
