Death hoaxes these days have become very popular. They tend to get all the attention when pranksters take any one of the beloved celebrities and make up stories of how they passed away. Latest to join the roster was funny man Adam Sandler who is known for hits like “Happy Gilmore” and “Billy Madison.” Story of his apparent death caused quite a stir.
According to International Business Times, latest reports suggested that Adam Sandler was found dead at his home on Monday. The report actually appeared on a news website called Linkbeef giving specific details about the actor-producer’s death.
The reports stated that the “Happy Gilmore” star was battling depression for a while. What was even more surprising was the fact that the report also had quotes from the star’s wife Jackie who mentioned that she lost her husband and best friend while the world lost their beloved star and a wonderful human being.
If you think the ridiculous report stopped there, you might be in for a surprise as it also included a police statement and according to this “statement,” the Sheriff’s office believed the death due to suicide by asphyxiation and would only make a final “determination” after the investigation was over. Naturally, Sandler fans were sad over the alleged death of their star as they posted condolences on the social media, though many of them also hoped the death news to be a hoax.
Latinos Post added that this is not the first time Sandler’s death hoax has been reported; the last one was back in 2013. The media outlet also mentioned that as expected the report was found to be fake and that actor is well and alive.
Adam Sandler’s latest movie “Hotel Transylvania 2” has been received quite well at the box office with the movie achieving a $47.5 million opening.
