‘House of Cards’ Releases Teaser During Oscar Broadcast [WATCH VIDEOS]

While viewers watched the winners being announced during the 87th Annual Academy Awards, “House of Cards” took the chance to release its latest teaser for its upcoming third season. Read on for more details to this news story.

The new teaser to “House of Cards” sneakily made its mark during the Oscar broadcast last Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, on ABC. Presented with an intense music that sets the mood for the show, the short clip offers a series of images from the Underwood presidency. They are definitely on a new level as the most powerful couple in the world, and their political maneuverings also take on new forms. The clip begins with Claire (Robin Wright) asking her husband the question: “What are we doing all of this for?” Is the partnership, one that has always been cracked to begin with, finally losing its hold? The clip ends with Frank (Kevin Spacey) looking into the camera, as he usually does, asking the viewers with a hint of snark: “What are you looking at?”

Earlier, Netflix also released the teaser “Traces” for “House of Cards,” which shows the staff members working for the president setting up for his meeting with the his wife. She’s on what looks like the Air Force One and arrives at the White House later on. The clip doesn’t reveal much of the plot at all, and the creative shots are mostly of the President and the First Lady’s feet.

“House of Cards” will begin streaming its third season on Netflix this coming Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. The whole 10 episodes will be made available for the site’s growing subscribers in the U.S.

Meanwhile, fans of the series were surprised last week when Netflix accidentally leaked the latest season way ahead of its announced released. But the episodes were immediately taken off Netflix’s list when this snafu was discovered. As reported on MNG, producers of “House of Cards” have reiterated that nothing substantial was revealed in the leak. Fans can still enjoy the third season spoiler-free when it hits the site this coming Friday.

Keep following Movie News Guide (MNG) for more about this show. We will be bringing you the recaps of the third season once it is out.
