In her etiquette book published in 1921, Lillian Eichler Watson noted that corn on the cob is one of the most difficult food to eat. Well, regardless, most of us still enjoy eating corn. If you are planning to cook your own corn snack, you might want to try “pole corn,” aka corn on the cob. It can be cooked in many ways and choosing the perfect ear is important. Carl Blemming shared a cool trick on cooking corn on the cob on his YouTube channel. Watch the video below and get ready to cook corn like a boss.
You can get rid of the annoying corn silk or hair sticking on the kernels by cooking the corn in a microwave oven for three minutes. Once cooked, chop the bottom part of the corn. Using a potholder, hold the top part and shake it until the corn slides down. You’ll be surprised to see that all the hair stays inside the husk. Now you can get a bite of that juicy and toothsome corn on the cob.
