Murder is still on everyone’s minds, especially as the season finale of the first season of “How To Get Away with Murder” doled out a big reveal that answered the biggest question for the first season, and left viewers and fans with more questions that needed answering, and hopefully will get answered in the second season, which will begin this upcoming fall season. During the Television Academy Panel held last Thursday on May 28, 2015, THR managed to talk to the show creators and the stars of the series during the Question and Answer portion of the panel. There, they talked about their journey during season one, and teased several things that will happen in season two.
First off, Viola Davis, who portrays Professor Annelise Keating, said that she believed that Annelise wasn’t a very good professor. She revealed that she wouldn’t have accepted the role if she hadn’t been allowed to remove her character’s wig during the season. It was also revealed that the show’s creators and the cast had a very collaborative relationship. It was also revealed that it was Davis’ suggestion that they bring in Cecily Tyson as Annelise’s mother.
Charlie Weber, who portrays Frank Delfino, an associate at Annelise’s law firm, revealed that he hadn’t expected that his character would be Lila’s murderer. According to the article, Peter Nowalk, the show’s creator, didn’t know that Frank would be the murderer until they wrote the final episode. According to Weber, he thought that his character was going to be killed off.
Also, it was revealed that for the second season, the dynamics between Annelise and her students, well, at least with the main four, will not change, as they have a deeply rooted bond due to the fact that these four murdered Sam Keating (Tom Verica). Also, a new character will also be introduced in the second season that will greatly impact Annelise.
With regards to the structure of the episodes during the season, with all the flash forwards and flash backs, this structure will “likely” be retained.
Also, it was teased that the latest predicament in Connor Walsh’s (Jack Falahee) and Oliver’s (Conrad Ricamora) relationship- that Oliver is HIV positive- will be significant during the second season.
What do you think of these little reveals, and what do you think about what is being teased for the second season? What do you think will happen in the second season?
