Hugh Hefner has released a statement in light of the recent sexual assault allegations against his good friend Bill Cosby.

In a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter, the founder of the Playboy empire broke his silence on the many sexual abuse and rape complaints filed against the comedian.

“Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved,” said Hefner in a statement as published on PerezHilton.com.

Judy Huth, former Playboy bunny, claimed that the actor had molested her in 1974, when she was only 15.

TMZ previously reported that the LAPD would speak with the employees at Hefner’s mansion and search the compound for evidence. This, however, might be a difficult feat as four decades have passed since the alleged incident.

Huth was only filing the suit because she claimed that she only realized the repercussions of the assault three years after. Three other women had also came forward to testify against Cosby. The alleged victims demanded for $100 million in damages.

Cosby’s camp, however, denied Huth’s claims and said that they were “absolutely false, unreliable and “untimely. They also presented court documents claiming extortion from Huth. In the files presented to the court, it was indicated that her lawyer, Gloria Allred, had demanded $100,000 for silence and later increased the amount to $250,000 since additional women came forward with similar accusations.

“Many of those alleged victims contacted me to determine if they had any legal rights that they could assert against Mr. Cosby,” the L.A. attorney revealed to People.

"Unfortunately, with a rare exception, I had to inform these women that it was too late for them to file a lawsuit against Mr. Cosby because of the statute of limitations. If Mr. Cosby believes all the women are being untruthful, then this is his opportunity to prove it," she added. "What could be fairer than that?”

To date, the comedian has accused by more than 15 women of sexual assault allegations. He has never been charged with a crime.
