Author Suzanne Collins shot the first arrow to the air as she offered her gratitude to the cast and crew who took her “The Hunger Games” novels to become a lucrative film franchise. Read On!
According to This Is Teen via Entertainment Weekly, the 53-year-old American novelist wrote a poignant letter to mark the upcoming release of the “The Hunger Games” movie adaptation which will hit theaters on November 20. The follow-up to 2014’s Mockingjay Part 1 – Mockingjay Part 2 will be the final conclusion of the Mockingjay novel which was deliberately split into two parts for the big screen.
The post-apocalyptic world of Panem has been an irresistible lure to this generation’s teenage boys and girls and Collins contemplated on the phenomenon that has stirred her work to such a glorious extent.
“Having spent the last decade in Panem, it’s time to move on to other lands,” Collins wrote. “But before I do, I’d like to say a tremendous thank you to everyone associated with the film franchise. I’m thrilled with how this quartet of films, which I find both faithful to the books and innovative in its own right, has been brought to life on the screen.”
The Time magazine’s most influential people of 2010 also gave her in-depth acknowledgement to Francis Lawrence for creating a brew that so fiercely understood the challenging premise of her story from the brilliant artistry of the designs to the commanding action scenes. She also commended main star Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss whose extraordinary portrayal sustained throughout the trilogy.
The three book-to-movie adaptations have grossed over US$2 billion worldwide, as totaled by The Numbers.
With such an accolade on their shoulders it is no wonder actress Jennifer Lawrence was already been in high-spirits prior to the conclusive distribution of “Mockingjay Part 2.” The 24-year-old was part of a prank for a cause during a press junket as mentioned in USA Today but the joke was up as it became a double prank of sorts for Lawrence and his co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.
