After “Minions” turned out to be hot on heels of worldwide blockbuster, Universal has lined up the release dates for the next three titles from Illumination Entertainment.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Universal along with Illumination Entertainment has declared a threequel July release dates for three animated untitled tentpoles. It was after the success of “Minions” that ranks to be no 2 animation movie till date.
The foremost untitled movie is slated for release on July 13, 2018, the next on July 3, 2019, while the 3rd will hit the theaters on July 10, 2020.
Meanwhile, Universal Studio has already started progressing with the third installment to “Despicable Me” sequel, where we will witness “Brady Bunch’s” comeback in June 2017 for the third time along with one-time super-villain who gyrated into a super-dad Gru, is new wife Lucy and three daughters, altogether with many Minions.
“The upcoming entries will be full of the sweet-yet-subversive humor, relatable characters and innovative visuals that have come to be expected from the makers of the beloved ‘Despicable Me’ franchise,” Universal said as reported by Variety.
Till date the “Despicable Me” spin-off movie “Minions” at the global box office has grossed $1.15 billion and has become one among top 10 lists of animated movies earning the sky-high amount.
“The Secret Life of Pets” another animated venture from Illumination co-directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney is due for a theatrical release by Universe on July 8, 2015. “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, ” a music-driven comedy, will be directed by Garth Jennings alongside Matthew McConaughey as the co-star and is due for release on Dec. 21, 2016.
As per previous reports by THR the third franchise of the “Despicable Me” is slated to hit the theaters on June 30, 2017.
