Lee Joon-Ki will finally grace the Hollywood silver screen with the newest release from the “Resident Evil” series. The South Korean actor will play a still undisclosed role in the finale of the science fiction horror movie which will be entitled “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” as mentioned in Malay Mail Online.
Milla Jovovich spilled the beans herself when she posted a photo of her and “Time Between Dog and Wolf” television actor together on set in the port city of Capetown, South Africa which she highlighted with:
“Working for the last few nights with the incredible 3rd Dan Tae Kwon Do master and actor Joon Gi @actor_jg has been insanely fun and so inspiring. Makes me want to go back to class and brush up on my martial arts skills!”
Besides his electrifying martial arts skills, the 33-year-old actor has an extensive filmography list in South Korea: The Hotel Venus and Flying Boys (2004), The King and the Clown (2005), Fly, Daddy, Fly (2006), May 18 (2007), and Virgin Snow (2007).
“Resident Evil” is a movie adaptation of the popular video game series originally released by Biohazard began its big screen run-in in 2002. Jovovich portrays the titular character of Alice and her ongoing struggle with the shady Umbrella Corporation, whose secret research of “bio-organic weapons” has triggered a zombie-infested wasteland.
“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” has had its major share of setbacks when it began shooting in September in South Africa as mentioned in Deadline. Oliva Jackson, the stunt woman who doubles for Jovovich, was critically injured last month during a high-speed motorcycle freak accident which had her collided to a camera equipment. The 32-year-old British daredevil is currently in a medically induced coma.
Despite the heartbreaking development, the Paul W.S. Anderson directed movie is still slated for a January 2017 release in the U.S. market.
