After the successful run of 2004’s animated superhero movie “The Incredibles” at the box office, the buzz surrounding its sequel is once again in the headlines. The plot of “The Incredibles 2” is reportedly near to its completion or almost done with some minor details remaining. The second installment is said to be on the verge of getting into the production. So from here we can guess that the production process will consume lot of time, hence it’s natural not to expect the movie any time next year.
According to Inquisitr, the first movie, “The Incredibles,” was almost like the story of “Watchmen.” The superheroes were considered a threat to the society after Craig T. Nelson’s character Bob Parr (in costume as Mr. Incredible) saved the life of a man who had no interest in his life and did not want to be saved. Hence, instead of being appreciated, superheroes were tagged as the special human beings who only brought chaos in the society.
What Christian Today considers that this might be the basic concept based on what “The Incredibles 2” will be made. The plot of second installment is expected to be connected with the first movie. Although there is no official statement from the director or producer, the buzz surrounding the upcoming film states that the story will be made to revolve around Jack-Jack Parr’s powers.
On the other hand, the director and writer, Brad Bird said in an interview with Collider that they had already finalized the story arc of “The Incredibles 2” and they would require to finish “a quarter” of the scripts. He even convinced that it was necessary for a prolonged wait to distinguish the sequel from other superhero movies.
“What you don’t want to do is trot over the same turf in the same way everyone else is. So we’re trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was,” Bird said, adding that the focus is slightly more on characters and relationship, and see where that takes us. But we’re having a good time.”
