“The Incredibles 2” is slowly gaining mileage on the information highway as new updates are steadily being revealed about the movie. After getting to know about the potential release date for the movie, Director Brad Bird talks about how he can make “The Incredibles 2” work and re-create the magic.
According to IGN, when Brad Bird was asked if he thought of leaving “The Incredibles” as a one movie wonder or if he wanted to make more sequels to the movie, his answer was that he wanted to keep it somewhere in middle as he planned to make a film that would be self contained like Steven Spielberg’s E.T. But since the growing trend suggests that multiple sequels are needed to be made, it only beats the whole point of having a successful standalone movie.
But thanks to his love for the characters in “The Incredibles” that he had loads of idea he wanted to use in the first one and had been dabbling around them though he could never really bring them on-screen, but that’s what helped him in scripting “The Incredibles 2.” Other relieving factor with this movie, according to him, is that the family is not really discovering their superpower, they are already aware of who can do what and all he had to do with this was to move the story forward.
Agreeing with what legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg said about the superhero genre, Brad believes that his motivation to make a superhero movie has always been on the characters that are involved and he always tends to think about them instead of how amazing their powers are going to be.
Not further revealing anything on the movie, he mentioned that fans will have to see “The Incredibles 2” to enjoy themselves and see where the story has gone.
In other news, The Verge reported the announcement Disney made about its upcoming new releases. According to this new release date list, “The Incredibles 2” has been pushed to June 21st 2019 along with “Toy Story 4,” which has also been pushed to a 2018 release. Fans surely won’t be happy about this at all.
