With the release of “Independence Day: Resurgence” trailer, it is speculated that the movie will bring back the excitement of battling aliens once again. The film is a reboot of the 1996 epic science fiction blockbuster “Independence Day”, and will feature “The Hunger Games” star Liam Hemsworth in the lead role, alongside “Jurassic Park’s” Jeff Goldblum.
According to Us Weekly, Will Smith, who starred in the lead role in the original film as Captain Steven Hitler, is not going to appear in the sequel.
However, Goldblum will be reprising his role of David Levinson, in order to help save the planet from the attacks of the aliens.
The movie is based on the theory that the aliens will come back again, but no one knows when.
The “Independence Day” reboot is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2016, and is a prestigious project directed by Roland Emmerich.
The trailer, which was released on December 13, 2015, features wonderful action sequences done by the handsome Hemsworth.
The big screen reboot comes two decades after the violent battle between the human race and the aliens.
According to The Vine, the aliens then came back again to capture the planet and to threaten the human race.
Actresses Joey King and Jessie Usher are also part of the cast of the reboot.
The 1996 film received various accolades in a variety of categories, and grossed around $817 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing film of 1996.
It is one of the most successful films that has been ever made, and Titan Comics will be releasing several prequel comic books ahead of the film’s release, featuring similar story lines.
“Independence Day: Resurgence” is slated to be released on June 24, 2016.
